Ground Zero

The main goal of Ground Zero is to help us realize our weakness so that we can rely on God's perfect strength, and grow to be the Men God called us to be.

Each week we will hold each other accountable, pray, study and serve, all with the intention of learning and applying what it means for our weaknesses to be how Christs strength is made perfect.

We hope that by the end of the semester that you will know God deeper and the calling that he has for you while developing practical tools and habits to fulfill that calling. Ultimately we desire that you see God is alive and still working today and that He wants to use you to bring others to His kingdom. 

The name is based on the idea Paul writes about in 2 Corinthians 12:9-10. In these verses God encourages Paul by saying that "His grace is sufficient for him", and Paul then makes the statement that in his weakness's Christ strength is made perfect. This group will change the way we see our weaknesses and ultimately ourselves, to prompt us to rely fully on Christ moment by moment. It will also show us how to live as His disciples.

This Idea will be executed by following a simple structure - 

(Accountability) is critical to growth, so at the beginning of each month we will assign partners this person will be your prayer partner as well as someone to hold you to your goals, and keep you on track with things that you struggle with. 

(Prayer) as the foundation ( specifically intercession, and praying consistently and in one accord) for the first 10-15 mins of the session. We will also focus praying for the Holy Spirit to transform us from the inside out because Its not by might nor by power but by "My Spirit says the Lord."

(Studying) a set piece of material - We will be using the "Amazing disciples plan" as well as an older book titled "The Art of personal evangelism" and of course the bible. There will be time for testimonials, so we can see how God is answering prayers and leading in our lives.

Serving / Acting - Jesus said, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me." We intend to act on that and live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. Serving those around us with different monthly projects, and sharing with other's what we're learning!
