Do these quotes make you curious? You are just the right person to join our LifeGroup! Our goal is to create a joyful and welcoming space where we can make friends while growing spiritually and learning strategies that release the potential for successful communication.
Jesus taught us that our love for each other is the sign to the world that we follow Him. If this is the case, why do we experience so many breakdowns in communication? Frequently, something that could have been a simple discussion morphs into a heated argument or a frozen relationship. We also are faced with instances where we don’t know how to handle a tricky conversation or how to keep a surprising comment from triggering our stress responses.
We can’t always prevent every challenging interaction, but we can learn how to successfully navigate our world and maintain an atmosphere of love and kindness. We will read and discuss The Next Conversation by Jefferson Fisher and look for ways that improving communication strategies can open paths for meaningful connections. The result? Loving our neighbor by communicating well, and showing by our actions that there is a good God who is worth communicating with too. Remember, making meaningful connections is a great first step towards getting to share with people Who means the most to you!
NOTE: This LifeGroup is not led by anyone with special training, just someone who found this book to be incredibly eye-opening and beneficial in their own life. Also, our meeting time will be 5pm until November, when we will move to 6pm to not conflict for those who are involved with Evensong.
